Abstract
This paper presents PROGAL, a knowledge-based system dedicated to imag e processing supervision for automatic galaxy classification. The role of PROGAL is to automate the selection of the image processing progra ms, their execution, the evaluation of their results and, when necessa ry, the adjustment of their input parameters. The knowledge contents i s discussed, then results on images with different qualities are shown .
