D. Burstein et al., TOWARDS UNDERSTANDING THE PHYSICAL-PROPERTIES OF STELLAR-SYSTEMS, Astrophysical letters & communications, 31(1-6), 1995, pp. 95-108
kappa-space is used to picture the relative global properties of stell
ar systems, including: giant elliptical galaxies; intermediate ellipti
cal galaxies; bulges of SO galaxies; compact ellipticals; dwarf ellipt
icals; early-type spiral galaxies; late-type spiral galaxies; irregula
r galaxies; the giant spiral galaxies Malin 1 and Malin 2; galaxy grou
ps and galaxy clusters. It is shown the relationships exist among and
between these different stellar systems that raise questions of fundam
ental importance that need to be answered if we are to understand the
formation and evolution of these stellar systems.
