Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium for ethanol(1) + water(2) + copper(I
I) chloride (3) at different mole fractions of copper(II) chloride has
been measured at 100.0 kPa. The results in the range where the mole f
raction of salt in the liquid phase was less than 0.146 times the mole
fraction of water were correlated by assuming that the salt was in io
nic form and it was associated only with the water. Thermodynamic cons
istency was checked according to Herington's method with satisfactory
results.
