Abstract
The liquid-liquid and the vapor-liquid phase equilibria of the ternary system 1-butanol + water + 2-propanol have been measured at ambient p ressure. Compositions along the binodal curve have been determined gra vimetrically at 0, 20, 50, and 60 degrees C. Tie lines were determined for 0, 20, and 60 degrees C. The data were compared to reported measu rements at 80 degrees C. Furthermore, the vapor-liquid equilibrium at ambient pressure has been measured for both one-phase and two-phase li quid mixtures using a recirculation still proposed by Rock and Sieg.
