Abstract
Pharyngitis is one of the most common disorders seen by primary care p hysicians, Fortunately, most cases resulting from viral or bacterial i nfection respond well to symptomatic medications or antibiotics. Howev er, aggressive treatment of pharyngitis due to group A beta-hemolytic streptococcus is crucial to avoid complications, such as rheumatic fev er and acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephritis.
