During 1994 a total of 544 individuals out of 35 Planipennia species w
ere trapped by two Malaise traps at the Devinska Kobyla hill in wester
n Slovakia. Here Hemerobius humulinus, Wesmaelius subnebulosus and Con
iopteryx esbenpeterseni were eudominant and Chrysoperla carnea, Microm
us variegatus and Semidalis aleyrodiformis were dominant. Apart from t
hat, 3 subdominant, 4 recedent and 22 subrecedent species were found i
n the researched area. All dominant species were found to produce two
generations per year. Flight activity in the 1st generation males of d
ominant species predominated their females significantly. The sexual i
ndex has been on a steady increase from April to August. Coniopteryx l
oipetsederi and C. tjederi have not been found in Slovakia before.
