Abstract
X-ray pulses, with a period of 4.0635 s, have been detected in ROSAT o bservations of the LMC Be-star source CAL E (= RX J0502.9-6626) at the 96% confidence level. This makes CAL E the second known LMC pulsar as sociated with a Be star. Based on its pulsation period, it is expected that the orbital period of the binary may be near 30 days, which is c onsistent with limited photometric and spectroscopic studies which hav e been carried out.
