FACT STATEMENT OF AN ECOLOGICAL STATEMENT OF COPPER PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING .1.

The inventory of a life Cycle Assessment of Copper production from pri mary and secondary sources, of Copper and Copper alloy fabrication to semifinished and selected final products is presented. It will be publ ished in 3 parts. Part 1 consists of mining, mineral processing, prima ry and secondary Copper production. In part 2 follow fabrication proce sses for copper and copper alloys to semifinished material, inclusive production of wire and cable. Part 3 show casting to final shape, as w ell as alloy ingot production, PCDD/PCDF-emission values and summarize d statements. Finally the application of the data is shown. Mass cmd e nergy inventories, emission data, coupled products, waste and Co-2-emi ssion will be shown for every single step. The presentation is given i n modules. To get the whole picture, specific modules have to be added . For a few energy data this is shown in an appendix. Other values may calculated in a similar way.
