Abstract
The various measures of biodiversity available on the WORLDMAP PC-prog ram are discussed. Data on Mariscus Vahl (Cyperaceae) are used to illu strate these measures as well as to elucidate the choosing of prioriti zed conservation areas in southern Africa.
