Abstract
Electrolysis of gamma-mono and disubstituted allylic bromides in the p resence of atmospheric pressure of carbon dioxide using a platinum cat hode and a magnesium anode gave regioselectively the corresponding gam ma-mono and disubstituted beta,gamma-unsaturated carboxylic acids in 3 4-71% yields.
