Ie. Alekseev et al., ANOMALOUS BEHAVIOR OF IMPURITY IN-113M ATOMS DURING STRUCTURAL TRANSITIONS IN METALLIC SN, Radiochemistry, 36(5), 1994, pp. 474-478
The physicochemical behavior of ''hot'' In-113m impurity atoms during
structural transitions in metallic Sn is studied using the shift of se
cular radioactive equilibrium, secondary-electron Mossbauer spectrosco
py, and x-ray phase analysis. The observed anomalies of the impurities
, their accelerated migration to regions of low temperature, and emana
tion into the gas phase at submelting temperatures result from thermal
ly induced reconstructive surface phase transitions.
