The gamma-radiolysis of C-60 in heptane and toluene solutions is studi
ed for various doses. The radiation chemical yields G(-C-60) are calcu
lated from the intensity decrease of absorption lines in the UV and vi
sible spectra of the solutions. Judging from the results, C-60 is more
stable in toluene than in heptane. It is suggested that C-60 is more
stable in aromatic solvents. Peaks with masses 810-813 are observed fo
r C-60 in toluene in the mass spectra of both unirradiated and irradia
ted samples. These correspond to the masses of the proposed C-60-tolue
ne complexes.
