This article reports on a retrospectively designed and qualitatively a
nalyzed study. Subjective interview data were gathered through semistr
uctured interviews with 10 adult offspring and 10 adult siblings of pe
ople with mental illness. Results of the study provide a unique first-
band perspective on their coping skills, needs, and potential strength
s. Data from the interviews corroborate previous findings and provide
additional information. Implications for mental health professionals a
re discussed.
