The plasma electron mean energy calculation using laser interferometer
and diamagnetic probe data is considered. Relations determining the p
aramagnetic contribution to the nonuniform-current-plasma measurements
and numerical results for typical cases are presented. An example is
considered which illustrates the influence of this effect on evaluatio
n of the mean electron energy (similar to 0.5 keV) in a helium plasma
with n(0) similar or equal to 0.8 x 10(15)cm(-3) produced in a 1 m lon
g solenoid by heating with a 100 kJ electron beam.
