Li. Krupnik et al., ADVANTAGES OF USING SODIUM ATOMS IN BEAM-EMISSION SPECTROSCOPY - ATTAINMENT OF STABLE AND INTENSE ALUMINOSILICATE EMITTER MODE, Plasma physics reports, 20(2), 1994, pp. 170-172
Sodium atom beams are proposed for use in beam emission spectroscopy.
The effective cross section of excitation, ionization, and charge-exch
ange processes, which occur in collisions with the plasma particles, a
re calculated. The attenuation values of probing sodium beams are foun
d for the T-10 and the U-2M devices. A new operation mode is found for
an emitter of a thermionic source. It ensures stable and intense emis
sion of lithium and sodium ions.
