Isolated posterior cruciate ligament injuries are rare and their manag
ement is controversial. Bony avulsion fractures have commonly been rep
aired with open reduction and internal fixation using the posterior ap
proach described by Trickey. However, this approach does not lend itse
lf to detection and repair of associated injuries. We report the case
of a posterior cruciate ligament avulsion that was arthroscopically re
duced and stabilized with cannulated screws. This technique provided r
igid fixation for early rehabilitation and allowed concomitant arthros
copic examination of the knee for any associated injuries.
