Abstract
The characterisation of humic substances is very important and has bee n carried out by many investigators using a variety of methods. In thi s paper the humic acids extracted from different sediments of Basse No rmandie have been studied. Elementary analysis, TG and DTA methods tog ether with EPR and polarographic methods have been used to characteris e humic substances. The results are related to commercially available humic acid (Fluka) or to humic acid extracted from foreign peat.
