APPLIED DRYING TECHNOLOGY, 1988 TO 1993

This paper, the third in a series covering applied drying from 1971 to the present, reviews research and technical articles describing funda mental and applied research on lumber drying published between 1988 an d 1993. Research in seven subject areas is summarized: general article s, predrying treatments, drying techniques and equipment, schedules, p rocess control, energy, and post-drying. Several new texts have appear ed, and considerable work has been published concerning quality contro l at the dry kiln, sorting, and redrying treated lumber.
