The mm-wave spectra of N-15-O-18 and N-14-O-17 in both X2 PI1/2 and X2
PI3/2 states have been measured and assigned for the first time. Impr
oved rotational and, for the first time, O-17 hyperfine coupling const
ants have been derived from the analysis. The N-14-O-17 data yield par
ameters of the unpaired electron spatial distribution near both nuclei
. Furthermore, the deviation from the Born-Oppenheimer approximation i
s confirmed on the basis of the rotational constants of five isotopome
rs. Finally, when comparing the nuclear spin-rotation constants to the
ones of other molecules containing N-14 or O-17 nuclei, a roughly lin
ear proportionality with the rotational constant B is found.
