Abstract
We address the escape rate for single-humped maps near a boundary cris is multiplicatively coupled to weak uncorrelated noise. A scaling law for the rate is derived predicting a stabilization of deterministic tr ansient chaos by noise. Generalizations to maps near interior crises a nd band merging points are given.
