The kinetics of formation of solutions of poly(methyl-5-vinyl tetrazol
e)s is nitromethane is investigated. It is found that the characterist
ics of solutions are affected by the position of the methyl group in t
he tetrazole heterocycle. The concentration dependence of the diffusio
n coefficients of homo- and copolymers of methylated vinyltetrazoles i
s measured. The diffusion coffecients increase directly proportionally
to the content of 2-methyl-5-vinyl tetrazole in copolymer; these coef
ficients fit a unique dependence when they are represented as a functi
on of the difference between experimental temperature and the glass tr
ansition temperature. The Flory-Huggins parameters of interaction are
evaluated for the polymers studied. Formation of a stable intermolecul
ar complex in the system of poly(1-methyl-5-vinyl tetrazole)-nitrometh
ane is confirmed with the data of anisothermic desorption and UV spect
roscopy. It is supposed that different behavior of poly(1-methyl-5-vin
yl tetrazole) and poly(2-methyl-5-vinyl tetrazole) in nitromethane sol
utions is due to different distribution of electron density in tetrazo
le cycle, depending on the position of methyl substituent.
