S. Saari et Ak. Jarvinen, MULTICENTRIC LYMPHOMA INVOLVING LARGE GRANULAR LYMPHOCYTES IN A COW, Journal of veterinary medicine. Series A, 41(10), 1994, pp. 791-794
This case report describes for the first time in the literature a bovi
ne multicentric lymphoma involving large granular lymphocytes (LGL). C
linically, the cow had typical manifestations of multicentric lymphoma
with nonspecific signs. Most lymphocytes in cytological specimens fro
m blood and lymph nodes had an LGL-morphology. Histopathologically mal
ignant LGLs were found in the liver, kidneys, and lungs. The azurophil
ic granules were clearly seen with May-Grunwald-Giemsa stain. The gran
ules were slightly eosinophilic as shown with hematoxylineosin stain,
and most stained intensively dark with phosphotungstic acid hematoxyli
n.
