Abstract
Mathematical models of optoelectronic matrix-vector multiplier (OMVM) elements which incorporate the disturbance factors that are present in real optoelectronic systems such as noise and errors fr om light sour ces and photodetectors, the nonlinearity of the ADC and the point-spre ad function of the optical system, are described. Analytical formulae relating the dynamic range and accuracy of the OMVM to the error proba bility and accuracy parameters of the OMVP elements as well as to the optical system quality are developed. Methods of improving the accurac y of the OMVP are analysed.
