Abstract
Two types of cDNAs encoding gonadotropin beta subunits (GTH beta) were isolated from a cDNA library prepared from the pituitary gland of Bai kal omul (Coregonus autumnalis migratorius Georgi). GTHI beta and GTHI I beta cDNAs encode polypeptides of 137 and 142 amino acids, including a signal of 24 amino acids. The amino acid sequences of beta subunits of omul gonadotropins were compared with analogous sequences of fish and mammals.
