Abstract
Growth hormone (GH) cDNA has been isolated by polymerase chain reactio n (PCR) from cDNA library prepared from pituitary gland of Baikal omul (Coregonus autumnalis Pallas). The cDNA was found to encode a polypep tide of 210 amino acids, including a signal of 22 amino acids. Compara tive analysis showed high nucleotide-sequence homology between the omu l growth hormone and those of other Salmoniformes species.
