Bi-based polycrystalline HTSC coatings deposited over silver cylindric
al substrates have been studied by phase x-ray analysis. Obtained coat
ings have been found to be textured due to distinctions of rates of th
e crystal growth in different crystallographic directions, enhanced by
surface curvature. The degree of texture of the coatings is dependent
both on the substrate curvature and on thermal treatment. For the ort
horhombic 2201 phase, the grade of texture is higher than that for the
tetragonal 2201 phase.
