Abstract
This article investigates the historical development of gloves, charac
teristics of glove barriers, and the differences between the barrier i
ntegrity versus the effectiveness of glove barriers. The Literature is
also reviewed followed by a discussion of current glove standards and
the application of gloves for clinical practice.
