Abstract
The paper examines the effects of recent internal and external migrati on on the phenotypic differentiation within subdivided populations of two islands Korcula and Brac (Dalmatia, Croatia). Data on anthropometr ic (body) and physiological (cardiorespiratory) measurements from both sexes were utilized. The levels of phenotypic differentiation among v illage populations were estimated by means of the minimum F(ST). The r esults suggest that migration is nonradom on both islands and that it produces phenotypic differentiation in excess of that expected from ra ndom migration.
