Abstract
We present the synthesis, single crystal refinement, and powder refine ment of a new misfit compound, (GdepsilonSn1-epsilonS)(1.16)(NbS2)(3). The single crystal structure was determined using a composite approac h comprised of three refinement steps. The powder refinement was done using four-dimensional space with one modulation vector to model the i ncommensurate axis. The structure consists of three consecutive layers of NbS2 followed by a layer of MS, (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
