Abstract
This paper briefly summarizes the results of a long-term, open pharmac otherapy trial in 16 patients with well-characterized mitochondrial di sease. Outcome measures included repeated clinical evaluation, P-31-NM R spectroscopy and near-infrared spectroscopy. Treated patients appear ed to survive longer with less functional disability and medical compl ications than typically seen in clinical practice.
