Abstract
The suitability of the Standard Data Access Interface (SDAI) as a basi s for a collaborative modelling environment is evaluated through the d evelopment of a prototype implementation. Problems are reported and po ssible solutions suggested. A conclusion is formulated about the SDAI and recommendations concerning its future use are given.
