Ag. Bois et I. Panaiotov, NONSTEADY EFFECTS DUE TO A SMALL SURFACE PRESSURE PERTURBATION IN AN ELASTIC INSOLUBLE MONOLAYER, Journal of colloid and interface science, 170(1), 1995, pp. 25-30
A theoretical analysis of the surface velocity and surface pressure di
stributions along an elastic insoluble monolayer in the nonsteady regi
on following the end of a continuous monolayer compression was develop
ed. The surface pressure distribution in the nonsteady regions at the
beginning and after the end of the compression of a pentadecanoic acid
monolayer was experimentally studied. The behavior of the experimenta
l surface pressure variations with time and distance to the moving bar
rier are in a good agreement with the theoretical description for bath
nonsteady regions. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
