Abstract
A joint FIR pre and postfilter design for MIMO communications is propo sed, The prefilter controls the transmitted signal spectrum and greatl y reduces the error rate, We use random search to minimize the mean sq uare error, The proposed method is applied to ocean acoustic channels with an array of spatially diverse antennas, Our results show that til e joint design of the pre and postfilter dramatically improves both SI SO and especially MIMO channels.
