Abstract
We report on a 14-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (lymp homaleukemia) who had two episodes of acute tumor lysis syndrome durin g induction of remission with oral prednisolone alone and oral prednis olone, intravenous vincristine, and doxorubicin, respectively. Subsequ ently he had severe hyperphosphatemia (29.3 and 14.1 mg/dl; 9.46 and 4 .55 mmol/L), hypocalcemia, hyperuricemia, hyperkalemia, and azotemia. Multiple stones and tumor cells infiltration were demonstrated in both kidneys. He responded favorably to hemodialysis. (C) 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
