ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH AT APHRODISIAS IN CARIA, 1993

The year 1993 saw the third season of archaeological research at Aphro disias in Caria since the death of Kenan Erim. The New York University team undertook a regional survey, completed a new plan of the city, i nitiated a new program of site recording combined with limited excavat ion, pursued intensive documentation of the earlier finds, particularl y the sculpture, began construction of a new conservation workshop, an d carried out a major restoration and installation of the Zoilos friez e in the Aphrodisias Museum.
