Abstract
Crystalo-optic and acousto-optic properties of monocrystalline (GaxIn1 -x)(2)Se-3, x = 0.3, 0.4 are described and analyzed. The acousto-optic modulator was constructed with a monocrystal (Ga0.4In0.6)Se-3 as the active element. The relevant acousto-optic parameters of such a modula tor were determined and compared with characteristics of commercially available systems. (C) 1997 Optical Society of America
