An. Pestryakov et An. Devochkin, FOAMED-SILVER-BASED CATALYSTS FOR SELECTIVE OXIDATION OF METHANOL, Russian journal of applied chemistry, 67(2), 1994, pp. 272-274
A new type of silver catalyst - a porous metallic block with a cellula
r structure (foamed silver) - has been developed and its physicochemic
al, structural, and mechanical properties have been optimized. A study
has been made of the activity and selectivity of foamed silver cataly
st in selective oxidation of methanol. The active surface of the catal
yst has been studied by UV spectroscopy. It has been found that foamed
silver catalyst is efficient and selective in methanol oxidation unde
r both mild and severe conditions.
