Jw. Thomsen et al., MODULATION-FREE FREQUENCY STABILIZATION OF A DYE-LASER BY POLARIZATION SPECTROSCOPY, Measurement science & technology, 6(2), 1995, pp. 170-173
We have frequency-stabilized a single-mode dye laser by using laser-in
duced polarization effects in sodium vapour. Birefringence is induced
by a resonant polarized pump beam, and this results in dispersion of a
weak circularly polarized probe beam. The dispersion signal around th
e resonance frequency is then used to generate the correcting signal f
or frequency stabilization.
