Abstract
The reaction of 1,6-bis(3,5-dioxo-1,2,4-triazolin-4-yl)hexane (hexamet hylenebis-triazolinedione, HMBTAD) with isoprene, cyclopentadiene (mon omer), 5,5-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrachlorocyclopenta- diene, hexachloroc yclopentadiene, anthracene, 1,3-cyclohexadiene and 2,6-dichlorostyrene has been investigated. These reactions occur via [4 + 2] Diels-Alder cycloaddition at room or below room temperature and lead to the format ion of new heterocyclic bis-adducts in quantitative yields.
