Abstract
In this paper, fluorescein octadecyl ester has been synthesized. After immobilized in the plasticized PVC membrane and connected with a glas s bifurcated fiber optic, a fiber optic sensor for the determination o f methanol has been constructed. The described sensor has good reversi bility. Methanol in water solution from 30% to 80% can be determined. Besides a high reproducibility of the fluorescence signal, the respons e time less than 2 min, was realized.
