Abstract
A new cyano compound 1 named huazhongilexol, C8H9O3N, m.p. 173 similar to 175 degrees C, and a new lignan 2 named huazhongilexin, C22H28O9, m.p. 157 similar to 158 degrees C, were isolated from leaves of Ilex c entrochinensis S.Y. Hu (Aguifoliaceae). Their structures have been elu cidated on the basis of chemical and spectral evidences. The stereoche mistry of 2 was established by X-ray crystallography analysis.
