This paper deals with the policy laying at the foundation of the devel
opment of the National Power System (NPS) in Romania after the Second
World War until now. The basic features of the policy is the global ap
proach over the topic of the NPS growth in Romania in point of finding
the most favourable equilibrium related to the activities of designin
g, manufacturing, erection, repairing, etc. of the equipment and insta
llations in the electrical power plants and in the energy distribution
systems forming the NPS. The peculiarities of these equipments and in
stallations made in Romania are briefly set forth herein.
