Formation and stability of complex species deriving from interaction b
etween 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole [H(ata)] with acetate, malonate and citr
ate, has been studied in aqueous solution, by potentiometric method [(
H+)-glass electrode] at T = 25-degrees-C. Experimental data are consis
tent with the formation of (ata)LH(j) species (j = 1...n + 1, n = numb
er of protons in the carboxylic acid, H(j)L). The stability of the hyp
othesized species is discussed, in relation to speciation problems in
natural waters.
