Abstract
The reaction of a 2-phenylbenzoxazinone with pyrryl Grignard reagent i s very efficient compared with that of a 2-methylbenzoxazinone. The ti tle compound was prepared from 5-chloroanthranilic acid via the 2-phen ylbenzoxazinone in 92% overall yield. This method was also successfull y applied to the synthesis of 2-aminobenzophenones.
