Abstract
We have evaluated the use of an Ion Selective Electrode for the analys is of lithium in an outpatient clinic on a regular and routine basis. We discuss the advantages to the patient, the General Practitioner and to the psychiatrist and the means by which it is possible to use this technology to reinforce the monitoring role whether it be carried out by the Specialist or the General Practitioner or ideally by the two i n concert.
