Abstract
Phytochemical studies of the alcoholic-soluble portion of Fagaropsis g labra have resulted in the isolation of fagaropsine, a degraded limono id glycoside. Its absolute structure was elucidated as 1-O-beta-D-gluc opyranosyl-4 alpha-(3'-furanyl)-7 beta-hydroxy-4a alpha,8 dimethyl-4,4 a,5,6,7,8-hexahydro-3-benzopyran-2-one on the basis of spectral data.
