Abstract
Three mutant alleles of the transformer locus, tra(v1), tra(v2) and tr a(enu), were analyzed genetically, and all were found to be functional ly null alleles. The DNA sequences of these mutants revealed that they represent nonsense mutations that potentially encode truncated Tra po lypeptides of 12, 61, and 90 amino acids, respectively.
