Abstract
Selective acylation of the primary amino group in phosphonoethyl subst ituted ethylenediamine 1 with a variety of acylating agents has been a chieved in good yield. These derivatives are potential precursors of b ackbone modified, ''hybrid'' synthetic oligonucleotids.
