Abstract
Episodic classification problems are the transient responsibilities of the knowledge worker-growing and then receding in importance over tim e. Typically, episodic classification problems do not conform to tradi tional expert system solutions, and they require specialized architect ures to offer decision support and increased span of control for those individuals whose task is expediting the problems. This paper describ es a system for addressing episodic classification problems, giving ap propriate functional and technical detail, and continues by illustrati ng the effectiveness of the system through a case study of use of the system.
