Abstract
New data are presented on film thickness characteristics, over the Rey nolds number range 370-11,020, and relatively long distances from liqu id entry; i.e. 1.7-2.46 m. The mean film thickness delta(mean) does no t show a definite trend remaining roughly constant, while delta(min) h as a tendency to slightly increase. Other quantities such as the stand ard deviation s, delta(max) and dominant wave velocity V(wave) display a weak tendency to increase with longitudinal distance. This small va riation of the aforementioned quantities suggests that the flow may no t be fully developed, over the distances examined.
